Are YOU a Beta tester ?

I was just curious because it sure seems as of late that WE all are nowadays, the only difference is that we are paying the gaming world instead of THEM paying US ! It seems that this generation of games are no longer being tested as they once used to. Game companies USED to take a few years to plot, plan, develop then test games THEN release them to the world. But now it seems that they just kind of skip over parts and just release it when it's in playable form and then just fix it later IF EVER. The difference, while game companies have always made money, (don't ever, EVER let anyone tell you anything different because if companies weren't making money there wouldn't BE ANY next gen machines, there wouldn't be any BIG game companies and there wouldn't be any "indi" companies out there like there are) but see if they do it the way they are doing it now they can and do probably increase their profits by about 200-400% now because they used to employ anywhere's from 20-200+ internal testers and now they can cut that down to around a handful if that, more likely because of the state of the industry they can more likely just put ALL the testing into "free" or "learning/educational" programs for kids and college students and pay them small fees then use those as"write-offs" at the end of the year on their taxes and actually MAKE EVEN MORE money... Do you not remember buying a game at a store even a couple of years ago and actually being able to bring it home and PLAYING IT without any or at least extremely minimal problems ?? CAN YOU ?? I most certainly CAN !! And I don't even care for what SYTEM, BRAND, DEVELOPER, or PUBLISHER... Games USED to be made and released NEARLY BULLETPROOF, or at the very least as good as that game maker could.. But now it just seems the mentality in the modern gaming world is if IT even WORKS SHIP IT, why ? Because as long as it's even slightly playable WE (the game makers) can put a spin on it and with the correct marketing (within print, ads tv commercials, trailers, internet etc.) WE can sell anything.. And the sad truth is most times THEY DO !!
